01

Dates and times

As weekends are usually reserved for Wedding day bookings, please arrange for a pre-wedding session with us on a weekday unless otherwise agreed upon.

It is crucial to note that for outdoor photoshoots, there are certain times in the day that remain perfect for photos. Such timings are 7:30am to 9:00am, as well as 6:00pm to 7:00pm. These magical moments, when the sun dips below the horizon or gently rises from it, gift photographers and couples with the most enchanting and flattering natural light. The soft, warm hues of the sun during these hours create a romantic and ethereal atmosphere, casting a gentle glow on the subjects and the backdrop, whether it's a city skyline, a tranquil beach, or a lush garden. The dramatic play of colors in the sky adds an extra layer of artistry to your photos, making them truly exceptional. Sunsets and sunrises provide the canvas on which love stories are painted with an extra touch of enchantment, making them the ideal times for pre-wedding photography.

In the case where your session will include multiple locations and you wish to split them into a sunrise + sunset split day booking, we can definitely arrange for that at no additional cost provided we are available.

Locations

This is the most difficult decision to make when planning for your pre-wedding shoot. Let us break it down for you. There are a variety of options but they all mostly fall under these categories: Studio, Indoor, Outdoor green scapes, Outdoor city.

Studio

Eliminating the potential distractions of bustling backdrops, crowds, and, notably, the sun itself, studios emerge as an exceptional choice to imbue your photo session with a sense of minimalist sophistication. Within these controlled environments, a minimalist, simplistic, and elegant aesthetic can be effortlessly achieved, allowing your subjects to take center stage. The spectrum of lighting modifiers at our disposal empowers us to fashion captivating and artistic compositions through the artful manipulation of light. By skillfully harnessing the tools, we can craft frames that resonate with your vision and style, yielding results that truly stand out. It's worth noting that securing a studio necessitates advance booking, a prudent step that ensures your preferred date and time are reserved to accommodate your session seamlessly within your overall schedule.

green scapes

Opting for a pre-wedding photoshoot amidst lush greenery offers a charming and delightful backdrop that beautifully complements the essence of romance. The natural beauty of verdant landscapes provides a serene and timeless setting, where the couple's affection can unfold amidst the tranquility of nature. The vibrant hues of the surroundings add a touch of vibrancy to the photographs, while the interplay of light and shade creates a soft, enchanting ambiance. Whether it's a secluded garden or a picturesque park, greenery lends an aura of intimacy and purity, allowing the couple to express their love in an organic and genuine manner. This choice not only captures the affection between the partners but also encapsulates the promise of new beginnings, making it a wonderful option to create lasting memories before the journey of marriage begins.

Cityscapes

Cityscapes provide an ideal canvas for pre-wedding photos, offering an adynamic and captivating backdrop that reflects the modern love story. The urban landscape, with its towering skyscrapers, bustling streets, and contemporary architecture, adds a touch of sophistication and vibrancy to the photographs. The interplay of light against the city's textures creates a visually stunning atmosphere, infusing a sense of energy and romance into the frames. Amidst the vibrant rhythm, couples can showcase their connection against a backdrop that symbolizes their journey into a shared future. From charming alleyways to iconic landmarks, cityscapes offer a myriad of possibilities to capture candid moments and intimate exchanges, immortalizing the couple's love story against the backdrop of the urban narrative.

Selecting the right pre-wedding shoot location in Singapore is crucial for capturing memorable moments before your big day. Here are some practical considerations to help you choose the perfect location:

  1. Permits and Permissions: Before you finalize any location, check if you need permits or permissions to shoot there. Some places may require you to obtain a permit for commercial photography.
  2. Weather Considerations: Singapore's weather can be quite unpredictable, so it's important to have a backup plan for outdoor shoots. Look for locations with indoor or sheltered options nearby in case it starts to rain.
  3. Scenic Variety: Look for locations that offer a variety of backdrops. Singapore boasts diverse landscapes, from lush gardens to urban cityscapes. Choosing a location with different scenery can add depth to your pre-wedding album.
  4. Crowd Control: Popular locations can get crowded, which may affect the privacy and aesthetics of your shoot. Try to schedule your shoot during off-peak hours or on weekdays to minimize disturbances.
  5. Travel Time: Consider how much time it will take to travel between locations if you plan to shoot at multiple spots. Traffic in Singapore can be congested during peak hours, so plan accordingly.
  6. Comfort and Facilities: Ensure there are nearby facilities like restrooms, changing rooms, and places to take breaks if needed, especially if you're planning multiple outfit changes.
  7. Personal Connection: Choose locations that hold personal significance to you as a couple. Whether it's where you had your first date or a place you both love, a personal touch can make your photos more meaningful.
  8. Props and Decor: If you plan to use props or decorations, check if the location allows them and if there are any restrictions.
  9. Budget: Some locations may charge fees for photography permits or access. Factor these costs into your budget.
03

Outfits

Selecting the right outfits for your pre-wedding shoot is a crucial aspect of creating stunning and memorable photos. Here are some considerations and tips to help you make the best outfit choices:

  1. Coordinate with Your Partner: Coordinate your outfits with your partner to ensure a cohesive look. Your outfits should complement each other in terms of style, color, and formality.
  2. Consider the Location: Think about the location and theme of your shoot. Whether it's a beach, a garden, an urban setting, or a historic site, your outfits should match the setting and theme. For example, a formal gown might not be suitable for a beach shoot, while a casual outfit may not work well in a grand ballroom.
  3. Colors Matter: Select colors that work well together and harmonize with the surroundings. Pastels and earthy tones often work beautifully in natural settings, while bold and vibrant colors can pop against an urban backdrop.
  4. Avoid Loud Patterns and Logos: Loud patterns and logos can be distracting. Stick to solid colors or subtle patterns that won't overwhelm the photos.
  5. Layer for Versatility: Consider layering to add versatility to your looks. For example, a jacket or cardigan can be added or removed to create different looks within the same shoot.
  6. Formal vs. Casual: Decide whether you want a formal or casual look, or a combination of both. Formal attire, like gowns and suits, can create a classic and elegant vibe, while casual outfits offer a more relaxed and natural feel.
  7. Accessories and Details: Pay attention to accessories and details. They can elevate your outfit and add personality to your photos. Think about jewelry, hats, scarves, or even props that tie into your story as a couple.
  8. Hair and Makeup: Coordinate your outfits with your hair and makeup choices. Consider the overall style and look you want to achieve.
  9. Be Yourself: Ultimately, the most important thing is to be yourselves. Choose outfits that reflect your personality and make you feel confident and happy.

Remember that your pre-wedding photos should capture the essence of your love story, so have fun with your outfit choices, and let your unique style shine through. Collaborate with your photographer for guidance and to ensure that your outfits will work well with the chosen locations and lighting conditions.

Here are some things to note:

  • Movement is key! Many of our poses includes movements as they showcase your most natural and authentic self. Do also note that you may move whenever you wish as it may reveal some intimate and sweet moments that will be captured. Do not worry about ruining the shot as we can always do a retake.
  • Try not to look into the lens. Unless we tell you to do so, try not to look into our lenses as our aim is to capture you in the most authentic way possible. And that is, not always looking into the camera. Do not worry as we will always direct you during the session.
  • Be yourself! The whole purpose of a pre-wedding session is to capture you for you. We love it when couples show their little quirks and playfulness during the shoot as it adds to the atmosphere, and provides an authentic narrative of your love.
  • As we will be guiding you and giving you specific prompts and poses,, we will be at times silent, moving around to get different angles. During such moments, feel free to entertain each other, and do not worry about having to be still for the photo!
